La Lanterne Rouge

Producer: Clos Fantine

Region: Faugères, Languedoc, France

Cépage: Aramon, Cinsault

Year: 2024

Vinification: Cinsault is destemmed and begins fermentation, followed by the addition of whole-cluster Aramon after about 5 days. Fermentation is spontaneous, with gentle extraction. The wine is then aged for around 6 months in fiberglass vats. The warm vintage led to a natural slowdown in vine activity, resulting in lower alcohol and a more delicate aromatic profile.

Tasting Notes: Fresh and expressive with small red fruit notes and a hint of licorice. Light-bodied with a floral edge, fine tannins, and a subtle, pleasant bitterness on the finish that adds character and length.
