Birgit Wiederstein
Birgit Wiederstein is a passionate winemaker based in Göttlesbrunn in the Carnuntum region of Lower Austria. For Birgit, wine is both a dream and an ongoing adventure, one that evolves with every vintage.
Her vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, always in tune with nature’s rhythms. She works with the lunar calendar, prepares natural composts, and encourages biodiversity throughout the vineyard. The goal is simple: healthy soils, balanced vines, and wines that truly reflect the energy of the place they come from.
Birgit believes the most important work happens in the vineyard. By the time the grapes reach the cellar, they already carry everything the wine will become—soil, climate, and season all captured in the fruit. Her role is simply to guide and preserve that expression, allowing each vintage to speak for itself.
The vineyards of Carnuntum sit on historic soils that have been cultivated for thousands of years—once part of a Roman province southeast of Vienna. Today, Birgit’s vines continue that long tradition, drawing their energy from the land and the sun.
For Birgit, wine is meant to bring people together. Her hope is that each bottle adds a little joy to the table and to the moments shared around it.
