LISZT

This small family winery takes a hands-on approach from vineyard to bottle, while keeping intervention in the cellar to a minimum. Natural fermentations and gravity help guide the wines, allowing each vintage to express its own character.

THE WINE

This small family winery takes a hands-on approach to every step of the process, from harvesting the grapes to working in the cellar and sharing the finished wines. Much of the work is done within the family, with the support of Bernhard’s parents playing an important role along the way.

In the cellar, the philosophy is simple: intervene as little as possible. Fermentations happen naturally and the wines move mostly by gravity, allowing each cuvée to develop its own personality and rhythm.

The wines are seen as something constantly evolving. Every vintage brings different conditions, and the wines continue to change over time as well. Rather than a finished product, each bottle represents a moment in an ongoing process, a snapshot of a particular year, place, and expression.

The winery is based in Leithaprodersdorf, along the Leitha Mountains, an area known for its remarkable geological and climatic conditions. The soils here are rich in Leithakalk limestone and bedrock, similar to those found in some of the most prized sites across the Leithaberg region.

This strong connection to place is also reflected in the winery’s logo. The circles symbolize the ancient moated castle once built in the village by the Celts, a quiet nod to the deep history of the land.
